The study assesses the accessibility of Barcelona’s summer climate shelters for elderly adults and children, who are considered to be the most heat-vulnerable population groups. The findings indicate that over 90% of these vulnerable groups are able to access a shelter within a 10-minute walk, emphasising the importance of utilising socio-demographic data in the development of public policies.
