QUDICE is a European project that aims to develop the components and subsystems for quantum communication and optical systems for space-based QKD, enabling the realization of a European network of satellites with quantum key distribution as the main service. Coordinated by scientists from University of Padova, the consortium is formed by experts from ICFO, Sorbonne University, L‘Università ta’ Malta, Fraunhofer IOF, and from the companies ThinkQuantum, Quside, Thales Alenia Space, Stellar Project, Sateliot, and Argotec, the project plans to develop the key technologies (weak coherent source, QRNG, entangled source, CV-QKD source, PAT system) that are necessary to implement quantum communication in Space.
