Breu explicació del projecte / Brief explanation of your project
The project will target the development of a material modelling platform for thermoplastic material for aeronautical applications.
Numerical model of thermoplastic coupons necessary for material certification will be automatically generated in order to provide robust design allowable.
Uncertainty Quantification and Management analysis will be also carried about to provide numerical error associated to every generated virtual allowable in order to quantify the effect on model input parameter variability.
The associated highlights are:
– To understand the mechanical behaviour of a thermoplastic composite material for aeronautical applications.
– To develop analysis models for thermoplastic composite materials able to predict all damage and failure modes at both material and component levels
– To develop numerical methodologies to propagate material, process and testing uncertainties along the model chain up the allowable computation.
– To define the complete framework and implement it in a user friendly platform for advanced and non-advanced users.
