A thermoelectric device is one that is capable of converting heat into electrical energy. There are many places from which we could draw heat to produce such energy, including the human body!
To this aim, we need to consolidate our theoretical understanding of the mutual relationships between the Seebeck coefficient, electrical and thermal conductivity. These factors determine how well a material can perform such energy conversion. Unveiling the physics behind this will help us design more efficient thermoelectric devices and recover huge amounts of waste heat.
